Clutch Justin Arana lifts Converge past skidding Blackwater

Justin Arana showed up in the clutch as the Converge FiberXers edged gritty Blackwater in a 92-90 win to boost its playoff bid on Wednesday in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

Down two points, the star rookie out of Arellano University tied the ball game at 90-all with a crucial layup with 34 tickets left in the game. He then went for a defensive rebound and another bucket to put the game away.

Arana finished with 13 points and five rebounds while Maverick Ahanmisi starred with 18 markers, seven assists, four rebounds, and one steal as Converge improved to 5-6 and stayed in contention.

Blackwater, who absorbed its fourth straight loss, was led by Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser who starred with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds.
