Paul Desiderio vehemently denies Agatha Uvero's abuse allegations

Blackwater Bossing player Paul Desiderio on Thursday broke his silence on allegations of abuse from Agatha Uvero.

Desiderio denied Uvero's claims and described them as "unfortunate and sad, and most of all, untrue."

The Blackwater player also hoped that they would be civil after their separation for the sake of their son, Andres.

"I vehemently deny her allegations of abuse during our relationship. I have had relationships prior to Ms. Uvero, and I also have a daughter from a previous relationship. I have never hurt a woman, especially not the mother of my child," Desiderio said.

Desiderio also said he will cooperate with the PBA as the league will conduct an inquiry regarding the allegation. "I am confident that I will be absolved of the accusations hurled against me," he added.

The Blackwater player also said he "will also face any complaint against me in any forum, especially in relation to domestic abuse accusations" and apologized to those affected by the issue.

Uvero on Wednesday alleged that she experienced abuse from Desiderio, including strangling her and being thrown onto a table and a wall. She added that some of these incidents happened while she was pregnant with their son.

The PBA said it does not tolerate any form of abuse and added that it will conduct an inquiry about the issue. Blackwater, in an updated statement, echoed the league's statement on abuse, and said it will also look into the allegations. — LA, GMA News
