Kai Sotto goes undrafted in NBA Draft
Filipino sensation Kai Sotto was not picked in the 2022 NBA Draft held on Friday (Manila time).
With the hopes and dreams of Filipino fans in hand, the 20-year old 7-foot-1 bigman attempted to be the first homegrown Filipino to bring his talents to the NBA, but was left on the board after two rounds of the rookie draft.
However, this is not the end of Sotto's journey to the NBA.
He can still sign with teams interested in him as an undrafted player.
Some active NBA players who were undrafted include Christian Wood, Fred VanVleet, and Seth Curry.
Prior to throwing his name in the draft, Sotto played in the Australia National Basketball League as a part of the Adelaide 36ers. He also was briefly a part of the NBA G League select team Ignite, although he did not play in the season back in 2021.
Sotto last played for the Philippine national team in the Clark window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in June 2021.
