Jojo Lastimosa leaves NLEX, will replace Gabby Cui as TNT team manager

Jojo Lastimosa is leaving NLEX after eight years of being one of its assistant coaches to assume a bigger role in sister team TNT where he is set to become the team manager.

Road Warriors head coach and general manager Yeng Guiao confirmed the development through the team's official website on Monday night.

Lastimosa is set to replace Gabby Cui at the TNT post.

“We gave him our blessing since it’s a personal advancement for him,” said Guiao. “We thank Coach Jolas for his invaluable contributions to the Road Warriors organization and we wish him good luck in the next phase of his career.”

Guiao added that NLEX has yet to find a replacement for Lastimosa.

Lastimosa, a legendary PBA player after having won 10 titles as well as the Rookie of the Year in 1988, is also among the options of San Beda University to replace erstwhile head coach Boyet Fernandez.

Recently, he appeared as a guest on the "Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel" podcast where he spoke about his basketball career.
