PBA Season 47 opener to feature Converge debut, TNT-Magnolia PH Cup Finals rematch

A jam-packed schedule will mark the PBA Season 47 opener as Converge will make its much-awaited league debut while TNT will kick off its title retention bid on June 5, Sunday.

The FiberXers will start off their campaign against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the opening salvo at 4:30 p.m. before the Tropang Giga face last edition's runner-up Magnolia at 6:30 p.m.

Both games will be played at the Araneta Coliseum before the PBA troops to the Ynares Center in Antipolo City for the next four game days.

Before the Converge-Rain or Shine tipoff, the PBA will hand out individual honors in the 46th Season Leo Awards to be followed by the Opening Ceremonies at 2 p.m.

TNT ruled the 2021 Philippine Cup after outlasting Magnolia in a five-game series that saw the franchise winning the All-Filipino crown for the first time in eight years.

Converge, meanwhile, is looking to open its debut on a high note especially with a loaded lineup that features Jeron Teng, Allyn Bulanadi, RK Ilagan and rookies Jeo Ambohot and Justin Arana.
