A day after a tight match against Thailand, the Philippine men's basketball team vented ire on the hapless Cambodia, running away with a lopsided 100-32 victory to remain unbeaten in the 31st SEA Games on Tuesday.
Lebron Lopez led the way with 17 points, five rebounds, and two blocks while Will Navarro chipped in 16 markers, seven boards, two assists, one steal, and a block as the Philippines went 2-0 in the tournament.
Matthew Wright also made his presence felt with 10 points as Isaac Go finished with a double-double of 13 markers and 12 rebounds to go alongside two assists and one steal.
Gilas Pilipinas was already enjoying a huge 40-point lead over the Cambodians at the half, 57-17, with the youngster Lopez and the veteran Wright leading the way with their 11 and 10 points each.
The Filipinos also limited Cambodia to just seven field goals made in the first half to go into the break with much confidence.
The second half was reduced to mere showcase of the Philippines' dominance as the wards of head coach Chot Reyes held the Cambodians to just 15 points as they picked up their second consecutive wins.
Gilas returns to action on Wednesday against Singapore at 4 p.m. while the women's basketball team also faces Thailand on the same day at 10 in the morning.
