Vanessa Bryant marks 16th birthday of late daughter Gigi with release of 'Mambacita' shoe

Vanessa Bryant is celebrating the birthday of her late daughter Gianna with the release of the Mambacita shoe in honor of her Sweet Sixteen.

On Instagram, Vanessa shared photos and videos showing the details of the black and white sneaker.

Called "Mambacity Sweet 16," the shoe has a snakeskin pattern and custom shoelaces. It also bears Kobe's and Gigi's names and Gigi's jersey number 2.

"I'm so happy with the way these Mambacita shoes came out in honor of my daughter, Gigi. Thank you @nike," she wrote in the caption.

The shoe also comes with a red bracelet, which according to Vanessa symbolizes the red bow Gigi loved to wear in school pictures.

Profits for the shoe will benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.

"With these shoes, we hope to encourage everyone to embody my daughter's Mambacita Mentality - to seize every moment, love deeply every day and to find your own joy," she said.

Last year, Vanessa marked Gigi's birthday with the launch of the Mambacita clothing line in her honor.

Gigi, the second daughter of NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, was born on May 1. She died at the age of 13 along with her father and seven other people in helicopter crash in 2020.
