PH women's volleyball team leaves for Brazil training camp ahead of SEA Games

The Philippine national women's volleyball team is set to leave today for Brazil where the squad will set up a training camp as part of a crucial buildup for the Vietnam Southeast Asian Games set for May 12 in Hanoi.

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) said the women's team will hold a three-week camp as they look to bag the elusive gold medal in the biennial meet.

Leading the pack are Creamline teammates Alyssa Valdez and Jema Galanza who just wrapped up a fruitful campaign in the 2022 PVL Open Conference, where they came out on top against Petro Gazz.

Also joining are Majoy Baron, Aby Maraño, Mylene Paat, Ces Molina, Iris Tolenada, Ria Meneses, Kat Tolentino, Dawn Macandili, Kath Arado, and Dell Palomata.

At the helm are head coaches Jorge Edson Souza de Brito and Odjie Mamon.

The women's team is the last of the national squad to be sent for overseas training as their men's counterpart has already concluded its Qatar training last April 5 while the beach volleyball teams flew to Australia to conduct their training.
