Barangay Ginebra ousts NLEX to return to PBA Govs' Cup Finals
Barangay Ginebra is back in the PBA Governors' Cup Finals.
Ginebra on Wednesday ousted the NLEX Road Warriors with a 112-93 win in Game 4 of their semifinals series in the PBA Governors' Cup played at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Justin Brownlee led the team with 47 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, while Jeff Chan hit five three-pointers and finished with 20 points. LA Tenorio and Nards Pinto combined for 26 while Christian Standhardinger flirted with a triple double with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Cameron Clark paced the Road Warriors with 34 points and 12 rebounds, while Don Trollano registered 15 markers and Justin Chua had 10.
After getting the slim 53-50 lead at the end of the first half, Ginebra extended their margin in the third period and had a 15-point lead at 84-69 with less than a minute left in the said frame.
NLEX cut their deficit to a single digit, 95-87, before Ginebra again rallied late and widened the gap, sealing their slot with a 7-0 run in the final minutes of the game.
Ginebra will now wait for the winner of the series matchup between the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok and the Meralco Bolts.
