PBA to hold Season 47 Rookie Draft on May 15

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will hold its annual Rookie Draft for Season 47 on May 15 with the deadline for submission of application set on May 2, the league's Commissioner Office said on Thursday.

Local applicants will only be required to submit a copy of their birth certificates.

Meanwhile, Filipino-foreigner players only need to submit their Philippine passport, this is in lieu of the Bureau of Immigration Certificate of Recognition and the Department of Justice's Affirmation, which were earlier scrapped by the PBA.

Aspiring PBA players can start submitting their forms on March 21.

The annual rookie draft is open to cagers aged 22 years old and above or 19 years olds who have a minimum two years of college education.

Among the possible applicants this year are Brandon Rosser, Jeremiah Gray, and Jason Brickman, who were among the Fil-foreign players who missed last year's draft for failing to secure the documents that can support their eligibility.
