Mike Harris drops 38, tows Magnolia past Alaska for third straight win
Import Mike Harris and his Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok took down his former team Alaska Aces, 118-91, for their third straight win in the PBA Governors' Cup on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Harris dropped 38 points in the win, while Ian Sangalang added 14. Jio Jalalon had 12 points and 11 rebounds while Jackson Corpuz had 12 points.
Magnolia waxed hot early in the game and scored 37 points in the first quarter against Alaska's 18 to take the advantage.
It was all Magnolia from there, with the Hotshots having their biggest lead at 31 points, 116-85, late in the game. Magnolia had the advantage after the first 24 minutes of action, 61-45.
With the win, the Hotshots also spoiled the retirement ceremony for former Alaska big man Sonny Thoss' jersey number, which was held during the halftime of the game.
RK Ilagan led Alaska with 14 points while Maverick Ahanmisi and import Olu Ashaolu added 12 points each.
Magnolia improved to 9-1 before it ends its elimination games on Wednesday against the Blackwater Bossing. Meanwhile, Alaska went down to 6-5.
