Alaska retires Sonny Thoss' jersey number

The Alaska Aces retired the jersey number of one of its former big men Sonny Thoss.

Thoss, who was with the Alaska franchise since he was drafted in 2004, won three championships with the team and was a PBA Finals MVP during the 2013 Commissioner's Cup.

Back in May 2021, Thoss was 'pretty much set to retire' for the 46th season of the league.

Former members of the Aces were also present in the retirement ceremony. Among those present were former Alaska coach Tim Cone and former players like LA Tenorio, Joe Devance, Chris Banchero, Calvin Abueva, and Cyrus Baguio.

The Alaska franchise is also set to leave the league after 30 years.
