Pioneer Pro Tibay sweeps Pool A prelims; Meralco, Limitless still spotless in Leg 2 of PBA 3x3 2nd conference

A number of teams emerged unbeaten on the opening day of Leg 2 of PBA 3x3's second conference on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Pioneer Pro Tibay swept all four preliminary games in Pool A, beating the Sista Super Sealers (19-14), Master Sardines Fishing Champs (21-15), San Miguel Beermen (21-17), and Leg 1 champion TNT Tropang Giga (21-13).

With Pioneer's dominant performance, it now leads Pool A with a clean 4-0 slate to qualify to the quarterfinals alongside TNT, who is at the second spot with a 2-1 card. San Miguel, Sista, and Master Sardines are in third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.

In Pool B, meanwhile, the Meralco Bolts 3x3 have qualified at least to the knockout stage with an unblemished 2-0 card in Leg 2 opener after grabbing wins against Terrafirma 3x3 (18-10) and Platinum Karaoke (21-16).

With the Bolts leading the group, Platinum stays at second spot with an even 1-1 record followed by Purefoods TJ Titans and Terrafirma 3x3.

The Limitless Appmasters have also assured themselves a spot in the knockout stage following a 2-0 record on Saturday. The first conference titleholders edged Barangay Ginebra San Miguel (21-17) and the Cavitex Braves (21-15) to go undefeated.

The preliminary round continues on Sunday followed by the playoff round.
