Jericho Cruz inks three-year deal with SMB after parting ways with NLEX

Jericho Cruz has found a new home in the PBA.

After parting ways with NLEX and entering free agency, it didn't take the 31-year-old guard that long to find a new team as he struck a deal with the San Miguel Beermen amid the ongoing PBA Governors' Cup.

Cruz' agent, Danny Espiritu, confirmed the development to GMA News Online on Tuesday afternoon, just a day after his contract with NLEX reached its expiration on Monday, February 28.

In SMB, Cruz will get to reunite with his former college mentor Leo Austria, who recruited and mentored him during his days in UAAP with the Adamson University Falcons.

Cruz will also join a stacked Beermen backcourt that already features some stars like Marcio Lassiter, Chris Ross, Terrence Romeo, CJ Perez, and Von Pessumal as they try to improve their current 5-4 win-loss -card.

Cruz was NLEX's fourth leading scorer as he averaged 10.2 points to go along with 2.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals in 10 games he played in the season-ending conference.
