PBA to allow full-capacity crowd attendance as NCR shifts to Alert Level 1

It's almost back to normal for the PBA.

The league on Tuesday said it will start allowing 100-percent attendance capacity starting on Wednesday in the ongoing PBA Governors' Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial said the decision came after the fact that the National Capital Region (NCR) has been placed under Alert Level 1 starting on Tuesday, March 1, until March 15.

"Oo, 100-percent capacity na tayo simula sa Wednesday," Marcial told GMA News Online.

With the league now allowing a full-capacity attendance, Marcial bared there won't be social distancing anymore, or the one-seat apart rule. However, some protocols will still be observed.

Only fully-vaccinated individuals will be allowed inside the venue with everyone still mandated to wear face masks and practice disinfection from time to time.

Prior to this move, the league was already welcoming live fans in the venue but only 3,000 to 4,000 were accepted as Quezon City was under a stricter Alert Level 2.

The PBA returns to the Big Dome on Wednesday, March 2, with a double-header between Northport and Blackwater at 3 p.m. and Meralco and Magnolia at 6 p.m.
