Tickets for February window of FIBA World Cup qualifiers are now on sale

Gilas Pilipinas' sixth man can now troop to the Araneta Coliseum to show support in the country's campaign in the February window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) said tickets will go on sale starting February 17, just days before the nationals take on archrival South Korea on February 24 at 6 p.m. at the Big Dome.

Gilas will then face India on the 25th and New Zealand on the 27th before closing its campaign against the Koreans anew on the 28th.

For ticket prices, the lower box is P500 and upper box is P200 and will be available on TicketNet outlets and online.

To follow strict protocols, only fully-vaccinated individuals aged 12 years old and above will be allowed inside the venue. Fans are required to present their vaccination cards together with any valid ID or government-issued ID.

"The Philippines is set to face its legendary rival South Korea twice in the FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers. As basketball fans and the whole country recall, Gilas Pillipinas pulled off one of its historic victories after breaking the 'Korean Curse' in the 2013 FIBA Asian Championships, winning 86-79," said SBP in a statement.

"We again dominated our mighty foe in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, winning 81-78 and 82-77. South Korea is sure to come back with a vengeance but Gilas, strong and fearless, will face them once more and defend honor and country."

The development came after SBP secured green light from the Quezon City local government unit. SBP will also follow the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
