Dwight Ramos heading back to Manila to reinforce Gilas Pilipinas for February window

Dwight Ramos is heading back to the Philippines as he is set to join the national men's basketball team in the February window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers here.

Newly-reinstated Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes first bared the news on Spin.ph' s Zoom In show on Thursday night, saying the 23-year-old cager will be around when the nationals take on New Zealand, South Korea, and India.

This means that Ramos will miss Toyama's next two games this month in the Japan B.League. The Grouses are tipped to clash with Javi Gomez de Liaño and the Ibaraki Robots on Saturday and Sunday.

Toyama won't be back in action until March 2, where they will go up against Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars.

Ramos suited up for Gilas Pilipinas in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers where he led the country's 6-0 sweep of the tournament. In six games he played, the 6-foot-4 cager averaged 13.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.

Titan Management Group, Ramos' handler, also bared the development in an Instagram post Friday.
