PBA Governors' Cup set to resume on February 11, but fans not yet allowed in venue
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is setting February 11 as the resumption date of the halted Governors' Cup.
With Metro Manila shifting back to Alert Level 2 starting February 1, contact sports will be allowed again, and PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said teams may start scrimmages on that day.
However, the league commissioner said fans will not be allowed yet inside the playing venue.
"Wala munang fans. Pag-aaralan muna natin yung sitwasyon kung pwede na tayong magluwag. At the earliest baka second week magpapasok na tayo ng fans," Marcial said in an update on the league's website.
The Governors' Cup was temporarily suspended early this year due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.
The league last played its 5-on-5 games back in December 26, while it held the 3x3 conference finals last December 28.
