PBA Governors' Cup to resume by first week of February
Local basketball action is returning soon as the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) set its timeline for the resumption of the Governors' Cup.
In an update on its website on Monday, the league said its Board of Governors unanimously agreed to restart the reinforced conference by the first week of February.
League commissioner Willie Marcial also said they are waiting for the green light of the Metro Manila local government units, through the Metro Manila Development Association, to start scrimmages.
Teams will be given 10 days of scrimmages before the Governors' Cup resumes.
The import-laden conference was postponed early this year amid the surge of COVID-19 cases and with Metro Manila being put under Alert Level 3, where contact sports are prohibited.
The PBA last played back in December 26, while the first conference finals of PBA 3x3 were held last December 29.
