Kai Sotto sits out as Adelaide takes down Perth

In their first game in 2022, the Adelaide 36ers took down the Perth Wildcats, 87-74, on Tuesday in Australia's National Basketball League.
It was a wire-to-wire win for the Sixers who led by as many as 28 points, 46-18 and 44-16, in the second quarter. Adelaide had the upper hand at the end of the first half, 55-34.
Perth tried to mount a comeback in the third, limiting the Sixers to just 12 points against their 24-point output in the third period to close the chapter with just a single digit deficit, 67-58.
However, an 8-0 run at the start of the fourth period expanded Adelaide's lead to 17, 75-58, giving them enough cushion until the final buzzer to take their third win in six games.
Filipino standout Kai Sotto, however, did not see action in the game.
Daniel Johnson led the Sixers with 21 points and 8 rebounds, while Cameron Bairstow had 19 markers and 10 boards. Mitch Mccarron also registered a double-double performance of 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Victor Law tallied 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Bryce Cotton had 12 points in the losing effort.
The Sixers will be back in the hard court on Saturday against Melbourne United.
