Limitless pushes the limit to take PBA 3x3 inaugural conference title

The Limitless Appmasters, the PBA 3x3 affiliate of the Phoenix Fuelmasters, reigned supreme in the grand finals of the PBA 3x3 Lakas ng Tatlo's inaugural conference.

Limitless pushed the limits against Platinum Karaoke, 18-16, in the tournament finals on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

With less than a minute and a half left, Platinum's Chris de Chavez sank two from the line to cut their deficit to just two points, 16-14. Karl Dehesa delivered from beyond the arc to tie the game with less than 40 seconds left.

Limitless' Jorey Napoles split his charities off a Platinum foul to give them the lead, before Reymar Caduyac added one more point to take the title.

Brandon Rosser had seven points and four rebounds in the final match of the competition.

Limitless bagged the P750,000 cash prize while Platinum took home P250,000.

Prior to the title match, TNT Tropang Giga defeated Terrafirma 3x3 in the battle for third, 22-14, which gave them P100,000. Almond Vosotros made 12 points in the third place game.

Earlier, Limitless defeated TNT in the semis, 21-16, on a Jorey Napoles game-winner to reach their third straight 3x3 finals match. The Phoenix affiliate also won over the San Miguel Beermen in the quarters, 21-15.

Platinum, meanwhile, dominated Terrafirma in the semis, 21-10, and Pioneer Pro Tibay in the quarters, 21-15.

The Purefoods TJ Titans and the Meralco Bolts completed the playoffs picture, while Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Sista Super Sealers failed to advance from the group phase.

TNT's Almond Vosotros was named "Scoring King" of the tournament after tallying 293 points. Aside from the title, he will also take home P30,000 cash prize.

TNT, Meralco, Sista, and Purefoods won the first four legs of the tournament while Limitless notched the title for the last two legs.

The second conference of the PBA 3x3 will commence on January 8.
