Justin Brownlee's 28-10 double-double tows Barangay Ginebra past Alaska


Justin Brownlee posted a 28-point, 10-rebound double-double to give his Barangay Ginebra team a win in their first game in the PBA Governors' Cup, outlasting the Alaska Aces, 80-77, on Sunday.

Free throws from Brownlee and LA Tenorio sealed the deal for Ginebra after the Aces cut their deficit to just two points, 77-75, with 11 seconds left in the game.

Besides Brownlee, Japeth Aguilar was the only other Ginebra player to score in double digits with 11 points.

On the other side, Olu Ashaolu had 19 markers and 18 boards for Alaska. Robbie Herndon had 12 points, while Maverick Ahanmisi and Jeron Teng chipped in 10 points each.

Ginebra will play NorthPort on Friday while Alaska (2-1) will face TNT Tropang Giga when the league returns to the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
