Dwight Ramos flirts with triple-double as Toyama repeats over Kiefer's Shiga; Parks scores 20 in Nagoya blowout win


Dwight Ramos and the Toyama Grouses emerged victorious over Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars, 95-90, in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League) on Sunday.

It was Toyama's second consecutive win against Shiga following a 107-102 victory on Saturday.

With Toyama up by just six points, 91-85, with 1:17 left, Shiga made a 5-0 run to cut their deficit to just a single point. However, Keijuro Matsui scored the next four charities to hand the Grouses the win.

Ramos, Toyama's Filipino import, had an all-around game with 14 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists, coming two boards shy of a triple-double.

Matsui led the team with 19 points while Ryumo Ono had 17 and Brice Johnson added 16. Rounding up the double-digit scorers were Julian Mavunga and Toshiki Kamisawa with 12 each.

Ovie Soko paced Shiga with 20 points, while Naoto Moriyama posted 18 points and Novar Gadson had 17.

Ravena, Ramos' counterpart on the Shiga side, chipped in with 13 markers in the loss.

Toyama (6-12) will next face the Shinshu Brave Warriors on Wednesday, while Shiga (6-12) will go against Osaka Evessa.

Meanwhile, Ray Parks, Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins dismantled Kyoto Hannaryz, 93-48, in a huge blowout victory.

Parks had a game-high 20 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 clip from three-point range. He scored 15 of those in a lopsided first half that saw his Dolphins leading 52-22 after two periods.

Nagoya (11-7) will play the SeaHorses Mikawa on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Chiba Jets defeated Thirdy Ravena and the San-en Neophoenix, 87-80. San-en recorded its tenth straight loss and they slid to 3-15.

Thirdy scored 12 points in the loss.

Kobe Paras, meanwhile, was limited to two points in Niigata Albirex BB's 97-72 loss against Sun Rockers Shibuya.

Javi Gomez de Liaño did not see action in the 88-85 Ibaraki Robots win against the Shimane Susanoo Magic.

Matthew Aquino, meanwhile, was limited to just 8:07 in the 66-65 loss of Shinshu Brave Warriors against the Gunma Crane Thunders.

In Division 2, the respective teams of both Kemark Cariño and Juan Gomez de Liaño suffered losses. Cariño and the Aomori Wat's lost to the Fukushima Firebonds, 84-69, while Earthfriends Tokyo Z lost by 66 points to Kumamoto Volters, 118-52.
