Benilde names Charles Tiu as Blazers' new head coach

The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (CSB) named Charles Tiu as the new head coach of its men's basketball team.

According to a report by student publication The Benildean on Thursday, Tiu was appointed by the Benilde Center for Sports Development as the Blazers' newest tactician, replacing TY Tang who was the head coach from 2016 to 2020.

Tiu has been part of Benilde's coaching staff for five years and will lead the Blazers starting NCAA Season 97.

Aside from calling the shots for CSB, Tiu is also the head coach of MPBL team Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards.

Back in NCAA Season 95, the Taft-based squad missed the Final Four bus after finishing with a 9-9 card.

Recently, the Commission on Higher Education inspected some of the training facilities used by different NCAA teams ahead of its possible resumption.

NCAA Season 97, which is hosted by CSB, will be broadcast by GMA Network on its different platforms.
