TNT veteran Jayson Castro relishes championship moment at his high school alma mater

As if capturing the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup title was not big enough for TNT Tropang Giga veteran guard Jayson Castro.

The 35-year-old seasoned guard just collected his seventh PBA title in 13-year career but completing the championship run at his high school alma mater, the Don Honorio Ventura State University, made it even sweeter for Castro.

The latest feat in his collection served as a homecoming of sorts for Castro, who was part of the school's high school basketball team back then.

"I still can't believe that this is where I would get another championship," Castro said following their 94-79 victory over the Magnolia Hotshots in Game on Friday.

"This is very special. This will be one of the championships that I won't forget."

Castro also dedicated the win to the school, who helped mold him into the remarkable cager that he is today, as well as the students who, like him, are dreaming.

"Winning a championship here was a motivation for me and I dedicate this title to DHVSU and the students here who are dreaming."
