Scottie Thompson's first signature shoe with World Balance to be released soon

The long wait will soon be over as World Balance teased that Scottie Thompson's first signature shoe with the footwear giant will be available in the market in the near future.

The World Balance Scottie 1 was first shared to public last May when the company revealed the sneaker's logo, which bared the cager's initials 'S' and 'T' as well as his jersey number with the Barangay Ginebra, no. 6.

"Like many, Scottie Thompson is one of those individuals who dared to challenge the odds and persevered through hard work, discipline and faith," World Balance said in a statement on Friday.

"Three words that define him as a player and an individual. Three words that served as his mantra and etched on the heel of his signature shoe, the World Balance Scottie 1 which will be released very soon."

In what appears to be in a red and white colorway, the Scottie 1 and its packaging will pay honor to Thompson's roots and his basketball journey that started out when he was still in high school in Digos City until his colorful days with Perpetual in NCAA.

He continued making a name in the professional ranks, helping Ginebra snare five PBA titles while winning a host of individual awards.

"The sports industry is saturated by big brand players, but I choose a trustworthy local brand that provides quality and affordable shoes to the Pinoys,” Thompson explained.

“I knew with World Balance, I would have so much input creatively with my own signature basketball shoe, and hopefully provide the right gear to the aspiring Filipino athletes, whether they are playing on the streets, court, or campus."

Thompson added: "It really resonated with me to know that I could humbly represent and wear one of our own homegrown brands while playing on big arenas every game season, 'yun ang may impact para sa akin."

The much-awaited World Balance Scottie 1 will be available soon through select WB stores, department stores, and the company's official website.
