Rain or Shine head coach Chris Gavina loses mother to illness

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are mourning with their head coach Chris Gavina after his mother passed away on Wednesday.

The team posted a message of support for Gavina on their social media accounts.

"Bayan ng ROS condoles with head coach Chris Gavina. He lost his mother, tita Lilia Gavina, to an illness this morning. She passed away at the age of 74. May she rest in peace," the statement read.

Rain or Shine on Sunday concluded their PBA Philippine Cup elimination round campaign with a loss against NorthPort. They are already qualified for the playoffs.

The league will wrap up the elimination round games on Thursday.
