Aaron Black out for at least a week due to fractured finger

Meralco guard Aaron Black suffered a fracture to his finger in his team's 95-83 over Terrafirma on Thursday.

Bolts head coach Norman Black, also Aaron's father, revealed to GMA News Online that after further assessment of PBA medical consultant and orthopedic surgeon Dr. Raul Canlas, Aaron did indeed fracture his ring finger.

With the development, Aaron will be out at least for next week.

"Dr. Canlas, after seeing the X-ray results, determined that Aaron did fracture the ring finger on his right hand. Yes, he will be out next week. I’m not sure when he will be back on the court," the decorated tactician said in a message early Friday.

"He will be reevaluated again in the coming week."

Aaron hurt his hand at the 2:00 minute mark of the first quarter and was immediately seen having his right hand wrapped with bandages. He did not return to the court after that.

This will be a huge blow to Meralco's campaign as the team is already without two key players in Chris Newsome and Cliff Hodge, who have both been placed under the league's health and safety protocols.

"Aaron has been an important rotation player for us this conference so he will be missed," said coach Norman. "We will just take the next man up mentality and other players will have to step up."

The Bolts are currently in second behind top seed TNT with a 6-2 win-loss card.
