NBA 2K22 reveals new features in The City
Gaming company NBA 2K revealed on Tuesday some of its upcoming new features in "The City" feature of NBA 2K22.
According to 2K, "The City" features a basketball community with rewards and activities where users can enhance their players.
Innovations include New City Quests where players can do other careers such as being involved in fashion or hip hop, upgrading the player's house, and other activities such as Go-Karts and Inline Skates.
In an email interview, Visual Concepts, the developer behind NBA 2K22, said that they want to build a more interactive city for the latest edition of the video game.
"While we haven't modelled The City on any location in particular, we did want to make it feel like a big bustling city with lots of room to explore and interact with other players," it said.
"People from different parts of the world may see some elements that remind them of various cities but no one in particular was used as the core layout and design."
Visual Concepts also said giving the players other talents is part of its efforts to make the game more exciting.
"Each year, we always want to add something new and exciting for our online basketball community and for this year, we are allowing MyPLAYERs to develop their 'Hidden Talent,'" it said.
"This new feature will be for our PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, players and allows you to pursue side ventures to build a profile in the fashion world, where the art of promotion will drive your success as a mogul. Or get involved in the hip-hop business, where your music talent opens up an intriguing lane in the industry," Visual Concepts added.
The NBA 2K22, which has Luka Doncic in its regular cover and league legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin Durant in the NBA 75th anniversary edition, will be released on September 10.
