June Mar Fajardo grieves over passing of mother Marites: 'Sobrang sakit'
June Mar Fajardo is grieving over the passing of his ever-supportive mother, Marites, who died in Cebu on Wednesday according to a report by SunStar Cebu.
The 6-foot-10 San Miguel Beermen center and six-time PBA MVP, who is known to be very close to his mother, posted a heartfelt message, his first since the report surfaced last week.
"Nights like this will never be the same without you Mama! I’ve come to realize that nothing in this life prepares us for losing someone we love— NOTHING!!" he said in an Instagram post Sunday afternoon.
"Sobrang sakit!! It’s the kind of heartache i can feel in my bones!"
Fajardo, despite his large build, is a self-confessed 'mama's boy' and had often given credit to his mother for his becoming the dominant player that he is now.
Marites was also present when Fajardo was handed his most recent Most Valuable Player award during the 45th Season opening ceremonies.
In a separate Instagram post last December, Fajardo also posted a photo of him getting his hair combed by his mother with a caption 'Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a loving Mother is the greatest of them all! #mamasboiii'.
Fajardo also thanked those who mourned with him in this tough time.
"Mama i miss you now and will miss you forever! I love you to infinity and beyond! Rest in peace Mama!"
"Thank you all for your prayers and condolences! Appreciate you all!!"
