NLEX Road Warriors stall Terrafirma Dyip to notch second win


The NLEX Road Warriors rode a second half explosion to stall the Terrafirma Dyip and their hopes of a win in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup, 108-94, Sunday in the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

After trailing, 44-41, at the end of the first half, the Road Warriors scored 32 points in the third period to grab the lead 73-67.

The Dyip had a hard time getting their composure back, with NLEX leading as much as 16, 98-82, past the halfway mark of the fourth period. NLEX added 35 more points in the final quarter against just 27 for Terrafirma.

Kevin Alas led the Road Warriors in scoring with 21 points, while JR Quinahan listed 19 markers. Reigning National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball Most Valuable Player Calvin Oftana put up 16 points and 7 rebounds.

Joshua Munzon's 24 markers for Terrafirma were spoiled with their loss. Aldrech Ramos chipped in 17 points, while Andreas Cahilig made 10.

With the win, NLEX now has a 2-2 record, while Terrafirma is at 0-2.
