Kai Sotto considers lessons from FIBA OQT a win
Gilas Pilipinas big man Kai Sotto is grateful for being part of the national team that competed in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in Belgrade, Serbia this week.
Despite losing its two games against Serbia and Dominican Republic, Sotto said his experience in the qualifiers gave him a lot of lessons.
"It's either you win or you learn. This time, [I] learned a lot of things and that's a win for me," he wrote in the caption of his Instagram post on Friday.
"Grateful for this experience and thankful to be part of this amazing team."
The 19-year old tower listed an average of 9.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in the FIBA OQT.
The Philippines on Friday ended its campaign for a slot in the Olympics after losing to the Dominican Republic, 94-67. On Thursday, Gilas fell short against Serbia, 83-76.
