James Yap to PNoy: 'Thank you for being nice to me'
James Yap followed the list of celebrities who mourned the death of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on Thursday.
On Instagram, the Rain or Shine shooting guard shared a photo of his former brother-in-law.
"Rest in peace President Noynoy Aquino. Thank you for being nice to me. You will be missed," he wrote in the caption.
Yap was previously married to television host and media personality Kris Aquino, the former president's youngest sister. They have one son, Bimby, who is now 14 years old.
The PBA superstar campaigned for Aquino in the 2010 presidential elections. He and Kris separated later that year and their marriage was annulled in 2012.
PNoy was pronounced dead at 6:30 am on Thursday due to renal disease secondary to diabetes. He was 61 years old.
His remains have been cremated and he will be buried at the Manila Memorial Cemetery on Saturday.
