Why Mclaude Guadaña stayed loyal to Lyceum Pirates

Lyceum Pirates combo guard Mclaude Guadaña is one of the future stars of the NCAA basketball tournament.

According to Chino Trinidad's report on "24 Oras," Mclaude has been touted as a promising prospect way back in high school.

In fact, the LPU standout was among the select few who got the chance to play for the country as part of the Batang Gilas program.

"It's huge because ever since we were kids we are dreaming of making it to the PBA and representing the country," he said in Filipino.

Due to his talents and international exposure, other schools have tried to pry him away from the Pirates.

Mclaude, however, stayed loyal to Lyceum.

"We always hear that basketball is not forever. Basketball won't always be there for us so they want us to study and develop a great attitude," he said.

"They mentor us to become achievers outside the court, that is why LPU is important to me."
