JC Intal retires from PBA
JC Intal on Sunday announced his decision to end his career in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Intal shared his thoughts on retiring from basketball in an Instagram post on Sunday.
"Words cannot express how grateful I am to every single person who helped me make this journey possible—from playing for 2 years in Letran for High School, to 5 years in Ateneo for College, and 13 years in the pro league," Intal wrote.
He also thanked his family and the people who have been a part of his basketball journey.
"It is a bittersweet feeling for me to say goodbye to the game that has been a huge part of my life, but I am moving forward feeling happy and proud knowing I made the most of the privilege to play basketball professionally," Intal added.
The Ateneo alumnus was drafted in 2007 by Air21. In his PBA career, Intal also played for Barangay Ginebra and the Purefoods franchise (B-Meg/San Mig Coffee). He was part of the B-Meg team that won the 2012 Commissioner's Cup title.
Intal was also part of the Gilas Pilipinas team that won silver in the 2015 FIBA Asia Cup Championship.
Intal played his final season with the Phoenix Fuelmasters, where he posted an average of 5.45 points and 2.91 rebounds per game during the PBA's 45th season played in Pampanga. — Justin Kenneth Carandang/BM, GMA News
