Barangay Ginebra ships Slaughter to NorthPort, acquires Standhardinger
Barangay Ginebra and NorthPort just swapped the centerpiece of their frontcourts with a one-on-one trade involving Greg Slaughter and Christian Standhardinger.
According to the PBA website, the league's trade committee approved the deal on Thursday.
Slaughter, 32, is coming off a year-long sabbatical which saw him miss action in the Clark bubble late last year.
He took a break from basketball after his contract with Ginebra expired following the Governors' Cup. In December, he expressed his desire to return to the Barangay.
Standhardinger, meanwhile, was one of the top contenders for the Best Player of the Conference award in the Philippine Cup.
NorthPort finished the conference with only one win, but the Fil-German big man led Batang Pier with 19.9 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
