Warriors expect Stephen Curry back from illness Tuesday

After missing a game Saturday because of an illness, Stephen Curry is expected to return to the Golden State Warriors' starting lineup Tuesday when the team plays the Knicks in New York.

Plenty was made about Curry's homecoming game at Charlotte over the weekend, but he was a late scratch with what was determined to be a stomach issue. A more serious COVID-19 related problem was ruled out.

"He's feeling better today," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Monday. "He went through practice, participated fully, so we anticipate he'll play."

Curry could be joined on the court by injured big men Kevon Looney (ankle) and James Wiseman (wrist). Looney has not played since Feb. 2, while the rookie Wiseman has been out since Jan. 30.

The Warriors will make Looney and Wiseman game-time decisions.

Curry, a two-time MVP and seven-time All-Star, has averaged 29.9 points this season with 6.2 assists over 30 games after playing just five games last year because of a broken left hand. —REUTERS
