NBA partners with local telco to give Filipino fans free access to more hoops content online

The NBA has partnered with Smart Communications to give Filipino fans free access to more hoops content online.

In a press release on Thursday, the NBA announced the relaunch of NBA.com/Philippines, the league's official digital destination in the country.

Smart subscribers will be able to open the website without consuming mobile data, so they can enjoy game highlights, stats, standings, scores, schedules and more.

"Through our redesigned destination, fans will be able to connect with their favorite teams and players through instant access to NBA news and original content," said Ramez Sheikh, NBA Asia Head of Global Content and Media Distribution.

Pinoy fans will also get localized content such as game recap and analysis courtesy of sports reporters, basketball personalities, and influencers.

"This is a huge milestone not only for Smart, but also for Filipino fans who now have a dedicated new platform to follow their idols, stay up-to-date on games, and engage with fans who share the same passion for hardcourt action," said Smart President and CEO Al Panlilio.

Smart users can also subscribe to the NBA League Pass with monthly and three-game choice packages. They can also watch the livestream of NBA TV Philippines with GIGA VIDEO 99.
