PBA approves deal shipping Belo to Meralco, Amer and Faundo to Blackwater
The Philippine Basketball Association on Thursday approved the deal to ship Meralco's Baser Amer to Blackwater in exchange for Mac Belo.
On top of the previously reported swap, big man Bryan Faundo will also be sent to Blackwater as part of the trade.
In a statement, Meralco Bolts head coach Norman Black thanked Amer and Faundo for their services.
"To gain something of value, you unfortunately must lose something of value as well. We thank Baser and Bryan, and we recognize all of their contributions. We wish them nothing but the best in their career," said the multi-titled coach.
Black also welcomed Belo, who was recruited by the team to add depth in their frontcourt.
Belo, who was with Blackwater since 2016, posted an average of 11.4 points and 5.3 rebounds at the end of the elimination round in the PBA's 45th season.
Meanwhile, Amer listed 9.8 markers and 2.3 boards per game. Amer and Faundo had been with Meralco since 2015.
