Beau Belga proves haters wrong in Rain or Shine's OT win vs. Ginebra
Beau Belga shut his critics down after delivering a double-double performance in Rain or Shine's overtime win against Ginebra on Tuesday in the PBA Philippine Cup elimination round.
The big man registered 20 markers and 10 boards, and made big baskets in the final stretch of the game to bring the Elasto Painters to their fourth win.
Apparently, more than bouncing back from their loss against Alaska, Belga had an extra motivation in the morning of their game day.
"Isang hater na binatikos ako sa social media, na puro pananakit lang daw ang ginagawa ko sa PBA," Belga said in an interview after their win. "I just wanna prove it [wrong] tonight. 'Yun ang challenge ko sa aking sarili," he added.
Rain or Shine head coach Caloy Garcia said Belga's performance is a testament on how he handles criticisms.
"That's how strong Beau is, magaling siya magdala sa sarili," Garcia said in the post-game conference.
Aside from leading and delivering big games for the E-painters, Belga also showed his funny side inside the PBA bubble, including setting up a "sari-sari store" with roommate Ryan Araña, and "playing" chess against himself.
The Elastopainters are now second in the team standings with a 4-1 card, and will play against Phoenix on Saturday. —JCB, GMA News
