Rain or Shine outlasts Ginebra in OT

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters dealt Barangay Ginebra’s second consecutive loss in the PBA Philippine Cup elimination round with an 85-82 overtime win on Tuesday.

A Beau Belga triple at the 2:17 mark of the extra period gave the E-painters cushion, 83-78. Stanley Pringle trimmed Ginebra’s deficit at 1:17, but a Jewel Ponferrada shot with five ticks left sealed Rain or Shine's fourth win.

LA Tenorio’s freebies gave Ginebra the advantage with six seconds left in the fourth period, but a Rey Nambatac triple forced the game into overtime at 76-all.

Beau Belga posted 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Mark Borboran listed 16 markers.

Scottie Thompson and Stanley Pringle combined for 41 points of Ginebra’s output, with Thompson making 21 points.

Rain or Shine (4-1) will play in a rare triple-header on Saturday against Phoenix, while Barangay Ginebra (4-2) will go against San Miguel Beer on Friday.
