Alaska ekes out 1st win in PBA bubble against Magnolia
The Alaska Aces entered the win column after an 87-81 victory against Magnolia on Saturday in the PBA Philippine Cup elimination round.
A Mike Digregorio trey at the 0:54 mark of the fourth period gave the Aces enough cushion, 83-79, heading into the final moments of the game.
Mark Barroca tried to reclaim the lead for Magnolia after a layup at 33 seconds left. Digregorio freebies from a Barroca foul gave the Aces enough breathing room again, with Jeron Teng charities sealing the deal for Alaska’s first win.
With the win, Alaska tied Magnolia, both with a 1-2 win-loss card.
Former La Salle players led the Aces, with Teng making 19 points, Jvee Casio listing 17 markers and Abu Tratter with 10 points.
Alaska will play against Blackwater while Magnolia will face Meralco, both games on Tuesday.
