NBA mourns death of 'great friend' Chadwick Boseman

The National Basketball Association (NBA) joined the public in mourning the death of "Black Panther" actor Chadwick Boseman.

On Twitter, it said, "The NBA mourns the loss of Chadwick Boseman, a great friend of the NBA family."

The NBA posted a photo of Chadwick watching a game, and another of him exchanging a Wakanda greeting with a player.

Chadwick has passed away after battling colon cancer for four years. He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.

Chadwick's Marvel co-stars had paid tribute to him by sharing heart-breaking messages on their social media accounts.

Marvel Studios and even rival company DC Comics also honored the actor.

Chadwick had joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Black Panther in 2016, making an appearance as T'Challa in "Captain America: Civil War." He went on to star in his own Marvel movie, the successful "Black Panther" in 2018, before joining the phenomenal "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018) and "Avengers: Endgame" (2019).

Since then, he has starred in "21 Bridges" as Andre Davis, "Da 5 Bloods" as Stormin' Norman. He also joined the cast of "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" as Levee. —JCB, GMA News
