Thirdy Ravena brings his talent to Japan's B.League
Ateneo de Manila's Thirdy Ravena will bring his game to Japan as an Asian import in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League).
B.League announced Ravena's stint in a statement on Wednesday, saying "The Japan Professional Basketball League announced today that the SAN-EN NEOPHOENIX signed the shooting guard Thirdy Ravena from the Philippines for the 2020-21 season based on 'ASIAN PLAYER QUOTAS'.”
The Asian player quotas is part of a new competition for their 2020-21 season which aims "to enhance competitive abilities by matching with various Asian players in daily games and to expand business in the Asian market."
Prior to being signed, Ravena was part of three straight championships of the Katipunan-based squad and was the University Athletic Association of the Philippines' Finals Most Valuable Player from Season 80-82.
The second generation Ravena will be the first Asian player to be signed in the B.League as part of their Asian player quotas, and will play for the San-En Neophoenix team. — LA, GMA News
