Adamson University survived a late charge from the University of Santo Tomas, 79-74, to force a rubber match in the high school girls basketball finals Monday at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
With Game 2 held behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 threat, Adamson showed why they went undefeated in the elimination round and avenged their loss in Game 1.

Joan Camagong scored 29 points and 12 rebounds to lift the San Marcelino-based squad. Katrina Agojo and Abegail Amdad combined for 24 points, while Charlene Carcallas and Cris Padilla chipped in 10 points each.
The Danganan twins carried UST's offense with 40 points between them, while Brigette Santos added 12 points.
Before the game, UAAP recognized the standouts for the inaugural girls league this season.
Adamson’s Padilla was named the Most Valuable Player while her teammates Agojo and Camagong were included in the Mythical Team. Completing the list are UST’s Erika Danganan and Santos.
"Sobrang saya ko po kasi first time ito eh," Padilla said "Hindi ko po ine-expect. Pinu-push lang po ako ng coaches namin na ganito 'yung gawin, leadership kailangan daw. Ginawa ko 'yung part na 'yun."
The other girls said the awards made all their efforts to help their team worth it.
"Masaya kasi history siya," Danganan said. "Ang sarap sa feeling kasi kaka-start pa lang pero part ka na ng gumagawa ng puntos para sa bawat team."
The winner-take-all Game 3 will be on Friday at the FilOil Flying V Arena. —MGP, GMA News
