Gilas Pilipinas opens SEA Games campaign with huge win vs Singapore

Gilas Pilipinas showed no mercy against Singapore to open their Southeast Asian Games campaign with a 110-58 victory on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Troy Rosario led the Filipino cagers with 15 points, while Stanley Pringle and Vic Manuel had 14 markers each. June Mar Fajardo and Matthew Wright also finished in double digits.
Gilas moved the ball well as veteran guards Chris Ross and LA Tenorio combined for 19 of the team's 38 assists.
The Philippines also dominated in the open court, scoring 27 fastbreak points to Singapore's 4.
The team's defense limited Singapore to 32 percent from the field while shooting 58 percent themselves to steadily build their lead throughout the game.
