PBA: San Miguel Beer claims Commissioner's Cup title
San Miguel Beer knocked out top seed TNT Katropa with a 102-90 victory in Game 6 of the Commissioner's Cup finals on Friday.
The Beermen became the lowest seed ever to win a PBA title after finishing seventh in the elimination round with a 5-6 record.
Chris McCullough led San Miguel with 35 points, while June Mar Fajardo and Christian Standhardinger combined for 37 markers.
TNT import Terrence Jones had a monster performance of 41 points, while Best Player of the Conference Jayson Castro had 16.
Terrence Romeo, who finished with 10 points and seven assists, was hailed as the Finals Most Valuable Player.
The series was marred with controversy after SMB veteran Arwind Santos made a monkey gesture towards Jones in Game 5.
Santos was slapped with a P200,000 fine and 100 hours of community service but escaped suspension. —MGP, GMA News
