Aldin Ayo explains DLSU exit: 'We have differences in handling the team'
On Twitter late Tuesday night, Aldin Ayo finally spoke up about reports on his departure from the DLSU Green Archers.
"The reason why I kept mum is because of an agreement not to disclose any information before the 1st week of January or until the school makes its official statement. I am only breaking my silence since the news has come out earlier than expected and only after getting permission," Ayo said in a tweet.

The champion coach cited "differences in handling the team" as one of the reasons for his exit as head coach of the Taft-based squad. "I have always done what is necessary," added Ayo.

Ayo described his stint with DLSU as "two well-spent years," and thanked sports patron Eduardo Cojuangco, Jr, and the rest of the DLSU community for their support.
According to earlier reports, Ayo will transfer to the University of Santo Tomas to be the Growling Tigers' head coach. UST however has yet to release an official announcement.
Ayo led the Green Archers to a UAAP championship during his first year as head coach in 2016. The Archers, however, failed to defend their title during their recent Finals appearance.
Initial reports said Ayo will be replaced by DLSU assistant coach Louie Gonzalez.
