UAAP: Mbala, Rivero shine as La Salle blows out UST by 35

Ben Mbala and Ricci Rivero combined for 25 points in the first half alone to lead the DLSU Green Archers to a 94-59 victory against the UST Growling Tigers on Sunday.

With the Tigers keeping in step after the opening period, the Archers ignited a 25-8 blast in the second period to establish a suffocating lead.

La Salle didn’t waste any time putting the game away, as they overwhelmed UST 32-17 in the third period to cruise to another victory.

Ben Mbala finished with 17 points, while Ricci Rivera tallied 16. Jolo Go and Prince Rivera also chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively off the bench. Marvin Lee carried UST with 25 points, while Steve Akomo added 14.

With the win, DLSU improved to 10-2 behind league-leading Ateneo (11-0). UST, meanwhile, is now winless in 12 outings. — BM, GMA News
