NU keeps UST winless

The National University Bulldogs limited University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers to just 11 points in the fourth quarter to carve out a 94-84 victory in UAAP men's basketball action on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Issa Gaye paced the Bulldogs with 17 points and 13 points, while Dave You shined anew with 13 markers off the bench. Veteran Jayjay Alejandro posted a double-double with 12 markers and 10 boards, while Chino Mosqueda scored 11.
Regie Basibas carried UST with 23 points, but was left scoreless in the final frame. Jordan Sta. Ana was the only other Tiger in double figures with 14, as Jeepy Faundo was limited to nine.
The Bulldogs outdid UST from deep, connecting on 11 triples while limiting the Tigers to just two makes. The Espana-based squad also struggled with turnovers, committing 29. NU converted those into 23 points, while limiting their own errors to just 16.
With the win, NU improved to 2-1, while UST joined UE at the bottom of the standings at 0-3. —JST, GMA News
